Week 8 Blog
This week I am doing my blog on “I am a man with a heart”
written by Andrew Thi. I can sympathize with Andew’s experience of being in a
car accident and losing his ability to read and speak Cambodian fluently as I
have had a few friends have them speaking abilities altered after an accident.
Both suffered from head injuries and one developed a slight lisp after and the
other began to stutter at some moments. A lot of my friends in high school and growing
up got into a lot of trouble as well and sound similar to Andrew Thi. I had a
few friends get involved in shop lifting, car thefts, and drugs which led to
some getting sent to juvenile hall and I remember then having to abide by
certain rules on probation. They couldn’t hang out with us as much because of
their curfews and talked about how their probation officer was and their drug
tests, etc.
Question:
The ending of the article isn’t too satisfying in that it leaves me wondering
what Andrew Thi is up to now. Is Andrew employed and did he follow his passion for
science and mathematics that he had?
