Qiao Zheng

Week 8

On this week’s reading, I find an interesting article Intimate Partner Violence Among Asian Immigrant Communities. The author gives the idea that the Asian-American women suffer an immense amount of abuse based on cultural context and traditional beliefs brought from Asia. However, I have a different thought. In my eyes, as an international student from China, it is hard to see IPA right now in city, but it happens in the place away from cities because they are isolate from the society. I think the same idea can be used in here. The phenomenon is mostly happened in the communities of early immigrations. These people have the old thoughts from their own cultures and lived very isolate from the main society of America and their own countries.

So the question comes out: How can we break the barrier of isolation? How should we move away from the ideology of male dominance?
