After finish reading the weekly articles, I was shocked by the fact that Asian American has been one of the most discriminated racial groups in the U.S. history. In one of the article, it introduced a case called "Ho v. San Francisco Unified School District." In this case, it mentioned that Lowell High school have limited the Asian American population the enrollment while having a higher white decent population even though the Chinese American student population has higher index score compares to white descent populations.
In the class lecture, we have discussed "what is Asian American." As many students have said we want to be in a group where we can find and share common and similarities with others. We were influenced by both Asian and American cultures, but it’s hard to be accepted in either of them because of the stereotypes that were inscribed in people’s mind. It’s unfair for people to pre-judge others without knowing them.
The education system did the same in many cases. According to the statistic mentioned in the article ‘In Harvard Discrimination case, a duel between narratives and statistics” by Kirk Carapezza, Asian American were also at an unfavorable circumstance when speaking of the university admission. It seems hard to believe at first, that a prestigious school such as Harvard would do this, so the school seems to have preference certain race to build a ‘diverse community,’ so it would be ‘fair.’ In this case, many Harvard students took actions by hosting a rally. Students are willing to fight for their rights, just like professor Valverde have said. I don’t think we need explanations about why the school board takes such action, but simply make changes in the late-on process.

Question:What are other historical cases that involved discrimination of Asian American Cultures?
