       "The Coddling of the American Mind"was especially intriguing to me because it described the evolution of college students from the 20th century and the present.  This article presented evidence which proved that the "coddling" of university students has a strong negative correlation with their future lives.  One of the major questions ask revolved around the fact that the incoming college freshmen are learning to be too sensitive to certain debatable topics.  The controversial topic that came up regularly was the fact that the instructors often made remarks which were offensive to some students.  The main argument against college students whom are overly sensitive is the disruption it presents to the other students who are attempting to learn.  It is very difficult to learn college material, but it becomes almost impossible to do so if your professor is taken to court because a student of his or hers may have been offended.  Instead of  "coddling" college students, college instructors and faculty should attempt to teach students to learn instead of teaching them what to learn.

     Many wonder what the purpose of Universities are and I believe that it can become quite convoluted.  Should Universities allow students to freely express themselves or should they create machines to enter the work force?
